Thematic Unit: In the Garden
As our final project, the Early Childhood Education majors took over the Newton South Preschool for a week. We chose a thematic unit, designed all the learning centers, and each planned at least two whole-group lessons.

Learning Centers
These learning centers were set up in the preschool for the whole week of our thematic unit. When the centers were open, the preschoolers were self-directed and were able to engage with the stations in the way that most interested them.

Overview of Lessons
This page contains a simplified overview of all the lessons my team taught throughout the week. The four of us each planned and implemented at least two whole-group lessons. For the time slots when we weren't able to be in the preschool, we worked with the preschool teachers to brainstorm lessons that would integrate smoothly with our unit.

Whole Group Lessons
During our thematic unit, I taught two whole-group lessons, one of which was a read-aloud and the other of which was an activity on observations and predictions. Here, you can find my lesson plan for my activity and my reflections for both lessons.
