Overview of Lessons
This page contains a simplified overview of all the lessons my team taught throughout the week. The four of us each planned and implemented at least two whole-group lessons. For the time slots when we weren't able to be in the preschool, we worked with the preschool teachers to brainstorm lessons that would integrate smoothly with our unit.

Day 1
MM - intro to gardening read aloud (Seeds grow) and sequencing activity
2C - growing plants in sunlight vs darkness (intro to independent variable) + voting which plant which will grow faster
Storytime - The Ugly Vegetables
Day 2
MM - Insects roles in the garden (socially emotionally targeted as well) - do a brainstorm, intro to worms at teacher table
2c - weeding outside in the garden
Storytime - The Very Greedy Bee
Day 3
MM - Edible vs inedible garden things - Sorting different things you could find in the garden (hula hoop circles)
Choice Time - ‘teacher have-to’ planting grass (use visuals) at playdough table
2c - intro to planting (going out to garden)
1st Recess - Small groups planting
Storytime - Why Should I Protect Nature?
Day 4
Preschool Picture Day
MM - Seed Fruit Match (connect it to math by counting seeds) - peach, apple, and pomegranate + Add job that is watering the garden
2c - Plant garden!
Day 5
MM - Writing goodbye and thank you letter to the worms
2C - Observations & Predictions of the garden + releasing the worms into the garden
